Étienne François, Duc de Choiseul (1719-1785)

Minister in Louis XV reign, Le Duc de Choiseul starts its carrier as french ambassador in Rome, then in Vienne, from 1754 to 1757. He is nominated at the foreign relations ministry in 1758, and in 1761, he is committed to the War and Navy Ministry. He is disgraced by the Roy in 1770.

During its different mandate, il reorganizes the armee, creates the military school, straigten the french navy and makes the colonies prosper. He signs the Pacte de Famille, which unites against England all the Princes of the Bourbon Family (1761), performs the annexation of Corsica (1769), and confront against the ambitious projects of Russia over Poland. He advise for the banishment of the Jesuits (1762). Great seducer, he is a friend of Casanova.
